Can I guarantee a spot for all the participants from my church?
Each project is open on a first-come, first-serve basis. You can add additional registrants as long as there is room available in the project. Remember any spots still reserved after the deposit deadline will be charged the deposit amount of $60.
What are the ages for the projects?
  • College Students: Are welcome at all projects. In fact we LOVE college students!
  • All Youth Projects: Completed the sixth grade and older. Group Leaders are strongly encouraged to bring only sixth grade students who have already been a part of their youth ministry. Those completing the fifth grade are not old enough to attend a project.
Can I use a project as an outreach tool to involve unchurched youth or adults in my ministry?
Our approach involves helping participants grow in the gospel and develop mission-minded lifestyles. A work project not only requires participants to come ready to work hard and sleep on the floor, but also to share the gospel authentically. We leave it at the Group Leader's discretion as to what students are ready for a mission trip. You know them the best!
How many adults should we bring?
Each church group is required to bring one adult sponsor for every five youth participants of the same gender. Sponsors must be 21 years of age or older and must reside in the same room as their youth, assist with activities, and work alongside youth on a ministry team. Sponsors are not allowed to bring children who are ineligible because of grade level to participate in the project. No private sleeping arrangements or other arrangements are available for sponsors with children or for couples.
What is the best way to travel to a project?
Many groups use church-provided or rented vehicles. Each group is responsible for providing transportation during the project.
What is the dress code?
All participants are to dress according to the dress code provided in the Group Leader Manual.
What will accommodations be like?
Lodging facilities are often churches or school campuses where participants usually sleep on the floor, eat in the cafeteria/fellowship hall, and worship in the auditorium. Separate areas are designated for boys and girls. Groups will be assigned to classrooms. Depending on the size of your group and the space available, groups sometimes have to share rooms with other groups. Shower facilities are used here or are provided by portable shower units.
Will my whole youth group work together on a ministry team?
Yes. Your group will minister together as a group when serving with your church planter. If you have a large group your group may be separated and work with multiple church planters at multiple ministry sites. This assures that you group has a great week of ministering and building relationships with each other. You will receive specific ministry team assignments from your project coordinator at least six weeks before the start of your project. This will give you time to communicate with the church planter you have been teamed up with to ensure proper preparation for your group.
How do we prepare?
There are two main parts of project preparation for which group leaders are responsible. The first part is transportation logistics. You are responsible for getting your group to and from the project city, and each group is responsible for transportation during the project. The second part of project preparation will center around ministry assignments. When we receive your deposits, we will send you the information on how to access project preparation material on our website. The material includes a group leader guide, a sample participant form for you to make copies from, and a project timeline that will list important tasks and dates for you to complete.
Do you have a list of important deadlines I need to know?
  • June 1: Registration begins for the following year's projects. Groups may register without a deposit until January 15th
  • January 15: An initial non-refundable deposit of $60.00 per person registered is due on or before January 15th.
  • All registrations after the deposit deadline require the non-refundable deposit to secure a spot. No deposits will be refunded or transferred to final balance after that date.
  • May 1 Cancellation Deadline: All cancellations made after May 1st will incur an additional $60.00 fee for each person dropped. Totaling $120 ($60 deposit plus $60 cancellation fee.) When cancellations occur deposits cannot be applied toward balance due.
What is the training time built into the schedule for Sunday? What does it mean that the training is 'tiered'?
Our goal is to lead students through intentional training that will help them to grow in their understanding of the gospel. The training will be contextualized for the city they're serving in. Local coordinators will help further vision cast the ministry awaiting the rest of the week and how to connect that ministry with sharing the gospel.
If the location I wanted to attend is already booked to capacity, how can I get on a waiting list?
Please contact us at 1-800-254-2022, M-F 8:00-5:00 CT. We will be happy to place your group on our waiting list. As spots open or if no spots will be available at that specific location, we will contact you. While we will do our best to get you into the event you want, we recommend you consider a second location.


What is the cost to register?
The cost is dependent on the length and location of the project you select. Each project on the registration page lists the cost for that event.
What does the cost cover?
  • Lodging (local high school, church, or college dorm facility)
  • Meals at project
  • Project preparation materials
  • T-shirt for each participant (to be given at the project)
  • Secondary accident insurance
  • Program materials
  • Experienced leadership at project
  • Pre-project planning logistics
Does Not Cover:
  • Any transportation during the project.
  • Travel to and from project locations
  • Gas for the group leader's rental or church vehicles
What do I need to know about deposits?
  • From June 1 to January 15 you may register your group with no deposit at the time of registration.
  • A $60 per person deposit for the number of participants (students and adults) you register must be postmarked no later than January 15.
  • You are responsible to pay initial deposits for any participant numbers not dropped before the deposit payment deadline.
  • Cancellation Deadline: All cancellations made after May 1 for summer projects will incur an additional $60.00 fee for each person dropped. When cancellations occur deposits cannot be applied toward balance due.
When is my final balance due?
Two weeks before the project start date. For example if your project begins June 10th your group's full balance is due no later than May 27th. This policy applies to all projects. Delinquency in payment will initiate a $75 late fee charge to your registration and, more importantly, may cause your group to be dropped or placed on a waiting list.
Can I get a refund?
  • All deposits ($60) are non-refundable and non-transferable to the balance after January 15th.
  • All requests for refunds must be submitted in writing or by email.
  • No refunds are available for late arrival to or early departure from the project.
How do I explain the cost/value to my church?
A pre-packaged approach is a worthwhile investment. Promotional videos are available to help you raise support. Many groups make a long-term commitment to raise funds through work projects and church activities. Participants are more willing to pay their own money when they see the difference they can make on a mission project. Churches often set aside budget funds when an informed presentation about the project is made. The key? Start early!
