New Experiences in New York
As the project week began the groups started helping the church planters in many different ways. On Sunday, the groups visited the church service of their assigned church plant. Some groups even had the opportunity to help run the service such as teaching a lesson, leading worship, and anything else the church plant needed help with to run the service.
In the afternoon, most of the groups had the chance to go out and experience the city! One group sat down in Central park to talk about the cultures, languages, beliefs, and other statistics of the city to further understand the need of the gospel in NYC. After talking, the group then went out prayer walking around the park and prayed for specific people, and that God would open up opportunities for them to share the gospel with people this week.
Snacks in the Subway Station
This morning Bear Cove Baptist worked with Swerve Church, one of the church plants, and passed out free granola bars, donuts, and coffee along with information about the church. They got the opportunity to serve many people as they walked by, and had a few good conversations as well.
Prayer Walking in Brooklyn
Hillman Grove passed out flyers for a church plant, on street corners this morning and had a few great conversations about what they were doing and why they were in New York.
After lunch, the group went out again to a near by park and prayed as a group for the community. Later on this week they are planning on passing out water bottles and doing other activities to get involved in the community.
