As we wrap up our fourth project this summer here in Indiana, we are overwhelmed with gratitude from every student. It felt like each one came up to a staffer and thanked them personally for their hard work this week and dedication to this organization. We are humbled by their kindness and patience, even when things don’t according to plan, this evening being a perfect example. The staff had sound checked all of the equipment before the Gathering tonight after a hectic day, but something happened before worship began and the keyboard and main stage microphone were not producing any sound whatsoever. Instead of getting antsy and impatient with the staff, the participants cheered us on and encouraged us through the technical difficulties. Their kindness was so appreciated and we could not have asked for a better response from students when plans go array.
As we send these students back home, we pray that they will continue to live, love, and speak boldly within their churches, schools, jobs, and communities. We pray that they would be able to take what they have learned this week and apply it to their daily lives, that they would look for ways to serve others and share the gospel every day.
